The traffic jam was from the more than 1,000 people who had showed up for the Tea Party Express rally. All the parking spaces in Griffith Park at our venue were taken. The overflow parking lots were filled. And there were streams of cars still trying to get in, but having no place to park.
Conservative Republican Assemblyman Chuck DeVore just spoke. He is running against Sen. Barbara Boxer (Liberal-Democrat) and is one of the "good guys." The GOP establishment is trying to woo Carly Fiorina (former HP executive) to run. But she represents more of the same - politicians who believe in power and 'going along to getting along.' We're so excited to see Chuck DeVore passionately articulating a strong, conservative message - and the crowds love him!

Now speaking is Peter Foy of Americans for Prosperity. He was one of the leaders in the campaign to Defeat Prop 1A which was a giant tax increase ballot measure here in California. Again, this is someone who walked the walk - and didn't just talk the talk.
More soon - including pictures.
THANK YOU to all of you who have helped make this first day of the Tea Party Express a giant success. It's been amazing, folks!
There were no signs earlier in the day so I didn't stay. I followed the directions but I never found the spot the TP was supposed to be at. By the way the traffic jam is due to a rock concert in Pasadena. YOu need to put up signs in these types of areas as I am sure a lot of people were early and just turned away I was there around 1 pm.
ReplyDeleteWas it U2 or Tea Party Express II that caused LA traffic jams?

You guys rock! Thanks!
I was there at 4 p.m. waiting with people I did not know. I later met several people who were as enthusiastic as I about stopping this massive power grab and trashing of our Constitution. I saw the protesters in their blue Obama tee shirts and professionally made signs. One lady came over and expressed her support for Pres. Obama and the people I was standing next to but had not met and I graciously said good, that's your right. We wanted to know why she came over, she said she was filming. She said she voted for him because of the change he was bringing. when challenged about the changes she was giggly and illogical. We talked among ourselves about the negative impact this congress is launching on our country. We were united in our resolve to get the congressmen out who are not listening to us. The energy was high and hopeful. I encourage everyone to attend and ask themselves honestly do they really like the course our country is racing towards...
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Tea Party Express should support specific candidates.
